Needle felted pictures are produced by using a barbed needle to mix wool fibers together until they cling, or "felt" into a textile painting styled picture. I'm in Canada where we spell it "fibre" but others spell it "fiber." However you spell it, silk, yarn, viscose, banana fibre and ribbon are often incorporated with the base always being sheep wool.
