The original textile wall hanging was my mom's favourite. It was designed using coloured wool, wool nepps and embroidery thread to create the vivid image of three poppies blowing in a cheerful summer breeze.

Needle felted pictures are produced by using a barbed needle to mix wool fibers together until they cling, or "felt" into a textile painting styled picture. Silk, yarn, viscose, banana fibre and ribbon are often incorporated with the base always being sheep wool. This is an incredibly tactile artform, viewers will want to reach out and touch all that beautiful woolly texture.
