Seagull on the Rocks
This original wool needle felting allows you to bring a bit of the seaside into your home. Canadian fibre artist Vicki Sullivan uses an assortment of specialty fibres including silk, wool, and embroidery floss, to bring nature to life in her artwork. Using a felting needle and wool, she built out the bird in bas-relief style, accenting with shiny silk throwster. The artwork depicts a meticulously detailed seagull standing on a rock. The seagull is rendered with lifelike accuracy, showcasing its white and grey plumage, yellow beak, and yellow legs. The texture of the feathers is finely portrayed, adding to the realism of the piece. The background features a vivid gradient of blue tones, possibly representing the ocean or sky, with subtle hints of movement and texture, enhancing the overall serene atmosphere of the artwork. The composition beautifully captures the essence of the seagull in its natural habitat.
