BIG NEWS!
Vicki has launched into encaustic (beeswax) painting! The natural depth of wax allows for all sorts of effects through scraping, accretion, blowing molten wax, and skilled brushwork. There’s a new section in the store for pieces crafted in this ancient artform. Vicki enjoys that her characteristic passion for texture and vivid colour translates well to both needle-felted wool art and beeswax painting. Keep an eye out for adventurous fusing of these very different artforms in the coming months!
EVEN BIGGER NEWS!
Vicki has successfully embedded her first flat needle-felted wool artwork into an encaustic background. She calls this technique “felt fusion” because fusing layers of wax together is part of the encaustic process, and she enjoys the alliteration!
